01 / ABOUT THE PLACE

About this place

For a dish with a zoo-inspired touch, try the lesser panda cheese hamburger rice bowl. It comes with a choice of teriyaki sauce or Japanese-style grated daikon. One visitor ordered it with teriyaki sauce and recommended adding mustard from the cutlery station. Having a choice of sauce is a plus: go for the familiar sweetness of teriyaki or opt for the grated-daikon version, according to your preference.

There are plenty of rice dishes for a more substantial meal, too. A diner who ordered the fried chicken bowl remarked that it was filling and appreciated that it came with mayonnaise. Other options include curry rice topped with fried chicken and a pork cutlet bowl, so you can choose the combination that appeals to you. Set meals with hamburger steak or chicken steak are also available. They are listed as coming with rice and wakame seaweed soup, offering a different kind of meal from a rice bowl on its own.

For dessert or a break between animal-spotting, choose a crepe or ice cream. The banana chocolate crepe comes with chocolate sauce for ¥550; the Shirokuma Crepe, with vanilla ice cream, strawberries and banana, also comes with chocolate sauce and costs ¥750. Cup ice cream is listed at ¥450, with flavours including fruity Ramune Rainbow, classic vanilla made with rich milk, and Cream Soda, which combines soda and vanilla cream. Banana Mix is another option if you would like to try several flavours at once.

Coffee and café lattes are available hot or iced, alongside juice and melon soda. One visitor enjoyed a crepe and soft-serve parfait. FooZoo can be a place to grab a meal, or simply to pause over something sweet and a drink.

FooZoo has a food-court-style setup inside the zoo. Visitors buy a meal ticket and wait for their number to be called for collection. One visitor said their fried chicken bowl arrived fairly quickly during a weekday lunch and that they were able to eat at their leisure. It is a flexible stop during a zoo visit, whether you are in the mood for a meal or a short break.
